Winter 2006-2007 Art

Winter has come to North America & Europe & Mongolia & China & The Koreas & Japan, and thus I am making a fresh page on which to post my latest artworks. I hope you appreciate the inspiration behind the childish Muse that schools me.

"Eye of Saturn, Wrathellized" is from a raw b + w photo from the current Cassini-Huygens mission to Saturn and Titan, courtesy of NASA/JPL-Caltech. Color courtesy of moi. Thanks to Tom Marchione and PhotoShop 7.0!

"Io Pluto" is a tweaking of a b + w photo from the New Horizons probe to Pluto as it passed by Jupiter and its Jovian moons a few days ago. Image credit: NASA/Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory/Southwest Research Institute. Artistic tweaking credit: Mike Wrathell. Thanks Tom for your help, too, buddy.

Finally, "Iceosaurus" is one of those rare photographs I take that I feel comfortable saying, "It is art." I know I have never taken photography classes, so if that is exceedingly important to you in terms of deeming who has the right to take photographs and who has the right to display their photographs and who has the right to say what photographs have any trace of artistic merit, then feel free to dismiss it and me and stick me in a rocket to Pluto, if you can, and light the fuse.
